Josei Manga (女性漫画)

Josei manga are stories which are written with an older teen or adult female audience in mind. Josei manga often fall into two main categories -- drama and romance. Josei dramas often follow the lives of ordinary women and frequently are set at work or in the home or neighbourhood. Josei romance stories often include fantasy elements such as otherworldly environments or characters with supernatural abilities. Josei manga are often characterised by a more mature aesthetic or writing style, usually featuring older characters who have finished school or university and are now moving on to the next stages of their lives.
