Dyslexic-friendly (Font and Design) for Children and Teens

These are suggested books that are available through the Sussex County Library System. Many people with dyslexia find these types of books are easier to read. They are designed in a dyslexia-friendly font specially created to help make it easier to read and decode. Many publishers also layout the books so they are not "overcrowded" and include lots of illustrations to break up the text and keep the story moving.

Our VOX books are also recommended too. Vox books are audiobooks that live in print books. Sussex County Library System has these books at every branch in Easy Readers, Picture Books, Children's Fiction, nonfiction, and young adults. The permanently attached VOX Reader transforms an ordinary print book into an all-in-one read-along. There's no need for computers, tablets, or CDs. Kids simply push a button to listen and read.

This list is updated on a regular basis by Deb Fagnan for Sussex County Library System.
